“Hey, Morgan. We’ve got a problem,” Pike called to me. “Buddy, put that down or I’m going to make sure you lose a finger or two taking it.”
“What fuckery is this?” I asked when I found Pike and the super fighting over control of camera with a telephoto lens that cost more than the whole damn building.
The super tightened his fingers around the camera body. I considered what I would do to him if he cracked the casing doing that and it amounted to rather more than Pike’s threat of lost fingers. “You got what you wanted. If you won’t pay me rent, I’ll just start pawning some of this.”
“You sly little bastard,” I growled. “You only brought workers in so you could get in here and start pinching my stuff.”
from Incognito: the Vertical Street
The story just keeps surprising me. One of my characters made an announcement that came as a surprise to me as much as it did to the rest of the cast. I see the characters evolving as I write. I know I’m going to need some fine tuning when I get to edits. Sometimes they are just out of character, because of my own mistakes, rather than showing genuine growth. But today was a good bit. Also, Morgan is getting pricklier, which is something that’s been lacking a bit in previous scenes.
More surprising developments. The work is delicious these days. Daily Snippet: #Incognitoverse http://t.co/wm2Mx8eM
