Daily Snippet, 1-1-12

Unfortunately, I was not walking for my health. I was, just like every other damn day, out there for the health of my terminally diminished bank account. With one last look at the glowing red day star of the space station suspended above the southern horizon, I ducked out of the street crowd and into the no less hectic crowd inside the Vertical Street. It was hard to believe that anyone could be missing from that mass of people, but that was why I had been called there: one woman had disappeared from the Vertical Street and it was about to become my job to find her.

(Note: snippets are taken from each day’s work. Beyond fixing gross spelling and grammar problems, these have not been edited. They may or may not make it, altered or not, to the final draft. I make no promises. They’re just here for fun and to keep me honest about getting my words written.)
