On the plus side, I made a very cute stuffed octopus toy over the past two days. It has a little beak and button eyes and many legs. It is bright red. On the negative side, I have failed to write for anything except the Three Cheers and a Tiger contest over at Toasted Cheese. So now I’m down to a few days to get HoC #14 written and edited and no time at all to write for anthologies due at the end of the month.
I’m not sure why I haven’t been writing (again), except that maybe I intimidated myself with all the anthologies I want to join. The biggest issue at the moment is that I have next to no direction for HoC #14. Never knew what was going to fill that space when I first planned the story out and still have no idea what I’m going to do. So I just keep avoiding it. But now I’m out of time to kill.
At the same time, the weather is just disgustingly nice right now, so it is terribly easy to spend all day out of the house, playing with my dog and annoying my family. Even in the house, sunny patches with warm cats are abundant and ready for naps. There are movies to watch and books to read and plush squids to make so the octopus doesn’t get lonely. And I don’t have a thought in my head vying for attention.
It’s so easy to give in.
